Poster Presenter Information

Posters are to be set up on Tuesday morning before 10:00am. Set up is from 8:00am-10:00am on Tuesday and is “first come, first serve” for poster location. All posters will remain up for BOTH Tuesday and Wednesday. Authors are to be at their poster(s), available for individual discussion, from 4:00pm – 6:00pm on both days for the “poster sessions”. Posters are to be taken down (and removed) immediately following the poster session (at 6:00pm) on Wednesday.

Please refer to the poster presentation guidelines. The space of the poster will be 40 inches high by 60 inches wide.  Most posters will be assigned to free-standing cork board surfaces or cork-surfaced walls.  When you arrive, come to the registration desk on the first floor of the Campus Center. We will provide you with registration materials, poster location and push pins to affix your poster element(s) to the surface. 

Poster presenters will receive a reduced registration rate of  $295 to attend the entire conference. You will be responsible for paying for meals and any evening workshops you choose to attend, as well as arranging and paying for your own travel and lodging. All presenters are asked to register by September 7, 2012Poster Presenters who do not register by September 7,  will be removed from the final program. Click here for online registration. 

Please note the following deadlines:

·         Submit a one-paragraph biography by August 8, 2012 (no CV's please).  Presenter biographies will be posted online.  Please submit only the presenting author's biography.   

·         You may revise your abstract prior to August 8, 2012.  Otherwise the original abstract you submitted will be posted on our website (www.UMassSoils.com) and printed in the conference abstract book.  Log in to your original submission to edit your abstract.

·         We encourage you to submit a manuscript for publication in the conference proceedings Contaminated Soils, Vol 18 Manuscripts are due September 12, 2012.  The proceedings will be published mid-2013.  Please refer to the Manuscript Guidelines.

·         In addition, we encourage you to submit your manuscript to one of the following journals, to be considered for publication as a peer-reviewed article:

  • Soil and Sediment Contamination: An International Journal

  • The International Journal of Phytoremediation

  • Human and Ecological Risk Assessment (HERA)

  • Environmental Forensics: An International Journal
